Pune’s Dr Jagannath Dixit who has been campaigning for weight loss and reversal of diabetes for more than a decade now, is publishing a book ‘Dr Dixit Lifestyle: Master Key for Diabetes Remission’ with stories of ‘Dixit Lifestyle’ followers. Speaking to The Indian Express, Dr Dixit recalls one of the stories—of a Latur professor Sham Mendve whose HBA1C (average blood glucose levels in the blood for 2–3 months) was well under control after following the modified lifestyle plan. ‘The professor had an HBA1C of 10.1 (normal level is below 5.7 per cent) when he met me sometime in 2017. In the last six-seven years he has consistently followed the plan to ensure his HBA1C levels are well controlled,” claimed Dr Dixit – who is a professor of community medicine at BJ Government Medical College. “It is all about sustaining a proper lifestyle with reduced the frequency of eating that contributes to weight loss, losing that belly fat and preventing diabetes,” Dr Dixit said. Dr Dixit who is the Chairman of ADORE Trust said that 12,000 patients were enrolled across 14 diabetes reversal counselling centres in the country.
