Popular filmmaker Nurul Alam Atique is all set to entertain lovers of films and poems this February.

His much-anticipated film titled ‘Peyarar Subas’ is scheduled to be released in local cinemas on February 9 and his debut collection of poems titled ‘Manusher Bagan’ is scheduled to be released at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair on February 11. ‘The film Peyarar Subas brings to light how men assert their dominance over women in a family,’ said Nurul Alam Atique. The shooting of the film took place in 2017 and 2018. But it could not be released due to various reasons. ‘The film’s story will remain relevant to society for years to come,’ he added. Peyarar Subas stars Tariq Anam Khan, Ahmed Rubel, Jaya Ahsan, Sushama Sarkar, Dihan, Noor Imran Mithu, Jayita Mahalanobish, Akhi Afroz, Mashiul Alam, Mahmud and others. ‘Manusher Bagan’ has been named after an unreleased film directed by me,’ said Atique. The collection of poems, which has been published by Samhati Prokashan, contains 47 poems. Writer-translator Professor Khaliquzzaman Elias has written the foreword while artist Mustafa Zaman has designed the cover of the book. ‘Writing poems is a way to be one with myself. The poems of the book will give the readers a glimpse into various philosophical perspectives. Besides, I have tried to depict love, struggles of people, lived reality and others in the book,’ said Nurul Alam Atique. ‘I also would like to express my sincere thanks to Khaliquzzaman Elias, Mustafa Zaman and the publisher of Samhati Zonayed Saki,’ added Atique. He also spoke about his forthcoming venture based on SM Sultan. ‘This film will give the viewers a glimpse into the life of SM Sultan,’ he said.
